Nightbird Yes Interviews

Here it is at last: The Nightbird Alison Steele, late-night disc jockey and major Yes fan, interviewing members of Yes for her syndicated Nightbird show. The Nightbird was a program distributed to radio stations around the world on vinyl LP's (this was the 70's, after all). Brought to you by the National Guard and the Army Reserve.

Mike Healy has pulled together a bunch of material and I have cleaned it up and assembled it for this tree. Mike will be at the top level of the tree. We've been working on this for a few months - thanks to all who contributed!

Disc and track list:

disc 1
#169 (July 28, 1974) Rick Wakeman
#??? (2/76) Steve Howe (anyone know the exact date or show number?)
#271 (July 11, 1976) Chris Squire

disc 2
#280 (9/12/76) Alan White
#284 (Oct 10, 1976) Jon Anderson
#317 (5/29/77) Rick Wakeman

disc 3
#333 (9/18/77) Steve & Rick
#334 (9/25/77) Steve & Rick (continued)
WNEW-FM (9/77) Patrick Moraz (interviewed in the WNEW studio by Alison, but not part of the Nightbird series)

disc 4
(6/77) Nightbird's Yes musical biography with Allison Steele (remastered studio tracks inserted from YesYears)
(9-7-78) Yes backstage interview after Tormato show at MSG

disc 5
1977 Superstars Radio Network interview of Jon Anderson by radio consultant and Yes-head Lee Abrams. This is not a Nightbird show but the interview is fascinating, so we threw it in. (Anyone got the artwork for this?)

All tracks have been de-noised, de-clicked, and de-popped, cleaned up as much as possible, and sound great.* The interviews are very interesting, and they are interspersed with music from the albums being discussed. Commercials were edited out of the interviews and moved to the end of the discs.

* Moraz 9/77 and 9/78 backstage interviews are of lesser audio quality. Don't you hate footnotes?
