2001-08-29 ~ Yessymphonique
Hey Gang,
Michel F's partial recording of this Symphonique show circulated a bit, and from his description the sound quality of both is about the same, so only if you were there, or you are a die-hard completist, might you be interested in this.
2CDR 152min / AUD / B- / cassette recorder (walkman) source, with loud happy people near the taper, but it is the complete show (BTW the Steve solo was Classical Gas and MFAD, and I've written to FY to get it fixed) and the tape flips are between songs. I don't think this recording has been around much if at all, the taper is outside Yesswap.
I whipped it up for a couple of trades, ~ yes Jose and Guy I'm finally done ~ and before it is wiped from my hard drive, does anyone else want a copy? Reply to me, *not the group* before midnight Saturday the 27th. If there are only a couple of replies I'll just send it out, more than a few and we'll have a small tree, a shrubbery.
Tech notes: I don't know how the transfer from cassette was done. My CDRs were 2 CDR gen from the tape. Extracted it with EAC, remastered it a bit using Goldwave; fixed track markers, turned down the level (it was quite a bit louder than a 'regular' CD), tried without much success to add some low end and reduce the high midrange distortion, and monitored with Sennheiser HD495 headphones. Also made a few test CDRs to compare different low end rolloffs on real speakers, using an average home system, an 'entry level' audiophile system and an cheap blaster.
But hey, its only a B- anyway.
